Did I just see you on... a hair dye packet?

One of the interesting things about modeling is you are hired to "sell" just about anything, so it came as no surprise that I would end up on supermarket shelves,  in chemists and hair salons for varies hair products, which in turn would wreak havoc on my hair . I did start to enjoy the chameleon aspect that comes with modelling.

Knickers to you.

The best money earner in modelling is shooting lingerie, fortunately I was booked regularly as a "body model".

Cosmetics and Cancer.

Beautiful,  beachy, sunny, Aussie girls selling animal free tested cosmetics.

Memories of this shoot are very vivid, deep sadness exsisted behind my smiles. I absolutely appreciated landing this amazing campaign. However it was at a very poignant time in my personal life, my brother who had been battling brian tumours for several years had just undergone yet another major operation.
I  was living a very surreal existence with a growing career and watching my big brother suffer from an incurable disease.

Positivity.

A selection of models, designers and photographers, came together in the mid 90's to raise awareness for the cause of AIDS. In the industry some very talented and much loved people were lost to HIV related illnesses. I felt it was important to show my support, help raise awareness and to educate people positively, to stop the prejudices and misunderstandings that came with having HIV.

As fate would have it, I recently meet up with  Lynn  the marketing manager from Cheetah swimwear . We hadn't seen each other since the days of me working for "Wild" a sister label to Cheetah on the Gold Coast. Another regular client who booked me when ever I was back in my home town.

Here comes the bride 4 times maybe more.......

I had shot for a number of bridal magazines in my career, here are just a few from my collection to begin with.
Mum had a number of these images blue tacked up all over the kitchen. I told her to enjoy it while she could, because thats the only time I'd be wearing a "wedding dress".

Sealed Section.

Spiky and sticky is not a good combination.
Why men "shave" their chests and not wax is beyond me. My male model "boyfriend" for the day, was a lovely guy, but the combination of his fake tan, spikey chest and sticky body lotion really wasn't a
 "turn on."

Photographer Kenji Maeji Strikes again for Bettina Liano Profile Model book.

This shoot reminds me of the David Bowie song, "Pretty Things"
Back in Brisbane visiting the family and late night juants riding in cars with boys.

The move to Bondi Beach
We had a constant influx of young models from interstate crashing on our floor. It became a regular model apartment for a while with dj's, skaters and the occasional freak hanging around.
Summer in the 90's ,  Bondi Beach living with good friends was the begining to an adventurous time,  great music, great food , great people and great weed!....
 Yes, you heard me correctly.

p.s. I still own and wear those Doc Martins.
